It was ability that mattered, not disability, which is a word I’m not crazy about using.- Marlee Matlin

Marlee Marlin is 100% right on the money when it comes to looking at people who are different from the norm as much there really isn’t normal. Normal should be more like average.

Most people forget to take into account what abilities those who are different have and just making a comment using the word disability you seem to forget that each person who is different from the average person does have strengths and are able to work with them.

It’s 2017 and those who are different from the average person do not seem to get a fair chance in smaller towns and cities.  Yes, you have more of an opportunity to be looked at not for your disability but your abilities in larger cities.

There’s so many groups out there to help people who are differently abled. More should be done to bring inclusion to those who strive to be included with society as a whole.
