‘Born This Way’ is a reality show which follows seven young adults whohave developmental  disabilities which has come out on top, winning an Emmy is an outstanding unstructured reality program. There’s a need for more series to come out to better depict what life is like for people with disabilities. This a great way to learn more about what others face.

“Born This Way” has taken home the prize Sunday night at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, California.

The series focuses on the everyday experiences of the stars of the series, all of whom have Down syndrome. The series follows them through ups and downs of dating, employment and along with the quest for independence.

“Born This Way” debuted last years and it’s already in the midst of its second season after seeing viewership increase 67 percent over the course of a 6 episode run for its first season.

This is exciting news since there’s not that many series out that feature people who have disabilities. I can’t wait to see what’s ahead for ‘Born This Way’ along with other series that depict the challenges for people living with disabilities.
