“Goodbye 2013! Hello 2014!”

Tonight we say goodbye to 2013 and then we’ll say hello to 2014. I’m sure we all have different goals we want to accomplish during 2014. I know I do. I tend to include losing weight as one of my goals since there’s nothing wrong with being healthy. I tend to also include being healthy.

This Thanksgiving I thought I wouldn’t be spending time with my family and friends for Thanksgiving. Every Thanksgiving is filled with a lot of laughs and enjoying everyone’s company. My family has an unique Thanksgiving since my dad’s side of the family includes Italian cuisine with our Thanksgiving holiday meal. The countdown to the 25 days of Christmas really gets me the Christmas and Holiday spirit. ABC Family is one channel I love watching during Christmastime. I love this time of year. It isn’t about the gifts you receive it is about spending time with your family and friends.

Have you ever felt alone for the holidays? I know this year is going to be the first for me. I grew up with being with family for holidays and special occasions. It is difficult for me since I have a learning disability and my life hasn’t been easy by any means. I feel that no one should be alone for the holiday season. Everyone deserves to spend time with their family and friends.

I grew up being around my relatives for special occasions and holidays. My family is quite large. The terrible thing is I only see my relatives when their are funerals and weddings. That is few and far between. I can only imagine how hard it is for those who serve in the military feel and their families. I give those who are in the military and their families so much credit especially when they are away from their loved ones.

Happy 2013!!

“We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.” -Edith Lovejoy Pierce

We look at the new year as away to change something you would want to change in your life. We also look at new opportunities that could potentially come to us. We can do anything we would want to put our minds too. 2013 can be considered to be a new chapter in people’s lives.
